How to Embed a Video in Wix from YouTube.

​

  • For Wix, YouTube is a lot easier than Zoom. Yes, you'll have to download your video and vtt file (captions) from Zoom and then re-upload them to YouTube, but it makes the embedding process pretty seamless that way.

​

  • If you don't want to be on YouTube for this, you can have your video set to "unlisted" instead of "public"

         (Note: if it is set to "private" your captions will not show up - at least, I know YouTube won't auto-caption it for you)

  • Then, once the video is saved and has a YouTube link, go to Wix in editor mode:

1. Click plus (+) on the left side menu

​​

2. Click: Video & Music

 

3. Click Single Video Player

 

4. Click YouTube  (See Figure 1)

5. It will place a random filler video on your page.

 

6. Drag that rectangle video to where you want your video on the page.

 

7. Click "Change video"

 

8. Paste the YouTube link for your own video. (Figure 2)

     (Note: The captions will then show up when the video is played.)

9. Click "X" in the top left corner of the Video Settings menu to exit.

​

10. Click "Publish" to make your changes viewable to your site visitors.
